Dysmorphia

Beauty dwells in capsules
Small pills ingested
Cinderella’s spell cast.

Realities curse sieges
Overhauling life asunder
Entrapped time again.

A battlefield of mines
Contorting mirrors –
Warping voices –
Culling, conspiring around,
Avoiding every implosion.

Cheers rung from trenches;
Air bursts of color,
Celebration invades a shell.

Nothing seems resolved.
My eyes cling to debris,
Maybe the whole problem is me.
